First appeared in Milford, and on Mar. 1659/60 bought the homelot of Samuel Hale in Norwalk, where he died in 1688.

​

He married at Norwalk, 12 June 1661, Bethia Rumble, daughter of Thomas of Stratford.

​

Inventory 5 Dec. 1688; lands appraised 27 Aug 1688. Widow Bethia; nine children, ages: James 26, John 21, Samuel 11 next May, Abigail Cosier 25, Deborah Stewart 19, Elizabeth Stewart 17, Phebe 15, Sarah 13, Rachel 3.

Will 19 Jan 1749/50, proved 12 June 1751; wife Experience; two sons James and Robert; daughters Hannah wife of John Taylor, Deborah wife of James Pickett, Mary wife of John Morehouse; children of deceased daughter Eunice late wife of John Parret; son Robert and son-in-law John Taylor, executors.

 

James Stuart of Kent, John Taylor and Hannah his wife, Robert Stuart, Deborah Pickett, Elizabeth, Hannah and Sarah Parrot, all of Norwalk, John Morehouse and Mary his wife, and John Parrot, all of Fairfield, conveyed to John Taylor, 3rd, April, 1753.

5. Robert, m. abt 1738, Sarah Lounsbury, b. at Stamford, 13 June 1708, d. after 1791, who had been previously the wife of _______ Britto, and was the mother of Stephen Britto.

He married Hannah Bennett, daughter of Thomas, b. at Fairfield, 20 Aug 1680.

Will 5 Sept 1748, proved 29 June 1753; eldest son Samuel; 2nd son James; 3rd son Simeon; youngest son Nathan; daughter Dorothy; grandchildren Joseph and Elizabeth Araton, and Samuel and Dorothy St. John, referring to their deceased mothers; grandchildren Mary Araton and Sarah St. John.
